A Letter From Paul

Dear Community Members:

My name is Paul Borowski and I am running for the position of member of the Hauppauge Board of Education. I am an active community member with a strong commitment to represent the needs of the Hauppauge residents. Over the past year, I have led the way to having the proposed Iroquois Natural Gas Pipeline/Brookhaven Lateral Project turned away from the proposed path through our residential neighborhoods, schools, environmentally-sensitive areas and historic landmarks. With the dedication, assistance and team spirit of our residents, the Hauppauge School District, the Hauppauge Board of Education, the local, state and federal public officials, the local civic organizations, religious affiliations, etc., the results did happen. I look forward to continuing being a strong advocate on your behalf.

Our daughter, Amanda, is in Second Grade at the Pines Elementary School. She is involved in the SCOPE Program, HYO Cheerleaders and upcoming Softball, Brownies and Swimming. We are members of St. Thomas More Church.

In addition to my community involvement in such issues as the Iroquois Natural Gas Pipeline, the Suffolk County Land Preservation along New Highway and the Rt. 347/NYS DOT Project, I, currently, am a Community Member on the Public Relations Committee of the Hauppauge Board of Education, Pines Elementary School Shared Decision-Making Committee and PTA Representative on the Pines PTA Executive Board. I am a Founding Officer of The Rose Borowski Memorial Scholarship Foundation, which is a private non-profit foundation in my mother’s memory that we have given a monetary award based on scholastic achievement, civic service and Scouting to a graduating Hauppauge High School Senior for the past six years.

I take my decision to run for the Hauppauge Board of Education as an opportunity to give back to the Hauppauge community. I am pleased to see that the quality of education, School District and Board of Education over the past 40 years has remained to be solid and one to be very proud of. It will be a privilege to represent our children and residents of our community. I believe in keeping the community informed. I look forward to utilizing my financial experience to complement the Board’s team structure and face the multitude of challenges, while remaining a strong advocate for the community and long term change.

I am willing, able and committed to become a member of the Hauppauge Board of Education Team and welcome to being one of seven members that represent you.
